Dr. Mayer is a general pediatrician trained to treat all children. Her special areas of interest include treating kids with obesity or weight concerns, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and behavior problems. Children with weight related health concerns require a gentle and understanding physician who can encourage healthy habits, teach patients and their families how to live healthier lives and monitor for and treat the medical issues caused by being overweight or obese. For patients with ADHD, school problems or behavior issues, Dr. Mayer will work with parents to ensure that their children, adolescents and teens can be successful in school and in life. This often requires an individualized approach, which may or may not include medication, but will always include working together with the patient, the parents, and the school.
